Local Community Organisations

York LGBTQ+ Forum 

York LGBT Forum offers support to LGBT+ people in York. They are a registered non profit charity. The York LGBT Forum meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month 7pm-9.30pm at York St.John University and usually in DeGrey building room DG109. All are welcome to attend.

Lollipop

Sexual and Reproductive Health

Yorkshire MESMAC 

Yorkshire Mesmac Hull deliver focused work with various communities including Gay, Bisexual and other Men who have Sex with Men (MSM).

They offer testing for:

  • HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and Pregnancy,

  • Offer free condoms from their base, at the LGBT+ venues and by post.

  • Yorkshire Mesmac provide 1-1 advice on:

Sexual health, contraception, sexuality and hate crime and also offer free CPD accredited training to professionals on HIV, STIs, LGBT+ awareness, trans awareness, FGM and consent.

Cornerhouse 

Cornerhouse works with young people around sexual health and emotional well-being.

They can offer:

  • Peer mentoring in schools and the community (part of Headstart)

  • One to one support for young people at risk of sexual exploitation and workshops in schools and youth venues (CARE Project)

  • Work with boys and young men around healthy relationships, 'Break the cycle'

  • Reachout (in partnership with the Warren) is an outreach project covering the city of Hull talking about anything!!
